The family of disgraced footballer Adam Johnson have released CCTV footage of a man they believed graffitied the wall of their home.

The grainy black and white footage shows a man walking past the gates of the house before, moments later, passing back again the other way.

The video, filmed at around 11pm on April 18, also shows a white transit van parked outside and then driving away.

Faye Johnson - sister of the shamed former Sunderland and England player - issued a Facebook appeal for information about the suspected vandal, who is believed to have written 'pedo' on the wall in spray paint.

She wrote: 'Anyone know who drives this van or who the lad is?

'Direct message me with any info! Please like and share thanks.'

Explaining what had happened she later wrote that the vandal 'spray painted the wall but he couldn’t even spell properly'.

Several people replied to the post to say they would be on the lookout for the van, with one writing: 'Your family have been through so much Adam been called every name under the sun and some muppet who jumps out a tranny van writes some messy graffiti on ya wall and thinks that he's the boyo.'
