A host of celebs recently celebrated his 32nd birthday at the exclusive Chiltern Firehouse. But MailOnline can reveal how Khan, popularly known as Adz, was sentenced to life in jail at the age of 16, with a recommendation that he serve a minimum of nine years for his involvement in the murder of a drug addict in December 2003. He was part of a gang led by his older brother Nadeem, a notorious Rotherham drug dealer known as 'Big Nad,' who attacked David Callaghan over an unpaid drug debt and is still serving a life sentence for the crime. In prison, Khan qualified as a personal trainer and was commended by staff for his other work, which included raising money for charities and helping visitors with special needs. The judge accepted that Khan, who was found guilty at his initial trial of joint enterprise murder, had no idea what his older brother had in mind when they travelled to Callaghan's flat, adding that at the he was an 'immature' 16 year old enmeshed in Nadeem's world of drugs. Now Khan, who remains on life-long license, which means he can be recalled to prison at any time if he puts a foot wrong, spends his time working with many rich and famous people who have also become his friends. When asked about his murder conviction, Khan told MailOnline: 'That's correct but I don't want to speak about it at this time.' A relative at his family home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire said: 'We are very sorry for what happened but Adz has transformed his life and we're proud of him.' Khan's extraordinary journey from the prison cell to the red carpet began in earnest 18 months ago when he was asked to speak at an event at the House of Commons by JENGbA, an organisation which campaigns against the law of joint enterprise. Whilst there, he met film producer and actress Milica Kastner, a high profile supporter of the group and a well-connected socialite. By this stage, he had already established his own successful personal training business in Doncaster, called Body Architect but the encounter was to prove pivotal. Her mother is celebrity designer Tessa Kennedy, her late father is Elliot Kastner, a leading American film producer who made the epic 'Where Eagles Dare' and had a legendary reputation for managing big stars such as Clint Eastwood, Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro. Her former husband, Alexander Corcoran comes from a wealthy family with extensive interests in the arts. Khan and Milica, 47, began dating and she introduced him to her rich and famous friends, giving him unique access to a privileged world and an opportunity to establish himself as a personal trainer for the showbiz elite and other wealthy clients. They now live together in her £10 million flat overlooking Hyde Park, enjoying a lavish, celebrity lifestyle and are said to be deeply in love with plans to marry. A friend of Khan's, who does not want to be named, said: 'Adz's life really transformed after he met Milica. He was already doing well for himself but she catapulted him into a different world. He could never have got that kind of access without her. She is unbelievably connected and it's amazing what she's done for him. 'Sometimes Adz has to pinch himself when he thinks about how far he's come. He's an ordinary working class lad from Rotherham who was in prison. Now he's living the high life and is on first name terms with some of the world's most famous people and working with them. He knows that he's very lucky to be in the position that he is and accepts that it's all down to his girlfriend.' The friend revealed that Khan and Milica have never tried to hide his past and she often tells her celebrity friends about it because they could easily find out for themselves through a simple internet search. A host of celebrities including two of Khan's fitness clients, Rachel Hunter (left) and Natalie Imbruglia (right) recently celebrated his 32nd birthday at the exclusive Chiltern Firehouse Celebrated music producer Mark Ronson (pictured) was also in attendance at the exclusive hangout last month to mark the birthday of the award-winning celebrity fitness trainer Khan and Milica (pictured at a red carpet event) who live together in her £10m flat overlooking Hyde Park, enjoy a lavish, lifestyle and are said to be deeply in love with plans to marry soon The friend said: 'Adz is not proud of what happened. Being involved in a murder and going to prison for it, it's not something that you can ever get over. It really affected him and his whole family. He is full of regret about the fact that a man lost his life and he sometimes feels that he doesn't deserve a second chance. 'Milica goes out of her way to tell her famous friends. She says that they'll find out anyway, so it's better coming from her. At first there's a lot of shock but then they are very supportive. Of course, his past is disturbing but he was a 16 year old lad, led astray by his older brother and what he's done to rebuild his life is incredible and inspiring.' Khan's family still live in the Eastwood area of Rotherham, where he was born and raised. His father Majeed is a retired steel worker who arrived in England from Jehlum, Pakistan in the 1960s while his mother, Kaneez Jaan is a housewife. Khan, who is one of five siblings, still visits regularly and often brings Milica along, who friends say, has been accepted by the family despite the fact that she is not Muslim and 15 years older than him. A family friend revealed that Khan's parents are actively encouraging him to marry Milica and set a date by the end of the year, to which both have agreed. The whole family really love her, she has fitted in very nicely with them. She's very humble, despite the fact that she is from a wealthy, upper class background. The family want them to get married soon and not just be boyfriend and girlfriend because that is not really accepted in our culture.' Since moving in celebrity circles and relocating to London, friends say that Khan has also become something of a celebrity himself within his extended family and the wider Eastwood community. A friend said: 'When he comes home he tells us about all the famous people he's met but he doesn't rub our noses in it because he's still a really down to earth lad. The extended family and the whole community is really happy for him. When he went to jail he was determined to make something of his life. Not many prisoners do that but Adz found a remarkable drive and determination.'All rights reserved for this news site dailymail and under his responsibility
