A desperate search has been launched for a yoga instructor who went for a hike in Maui last week and never returned.

Amanda Eller, 35, was reported missing on Thursday as family and friends say they haven't heard from her since 7am the previous day.

Eller's white Toyota RAV4 was found in the parking lot at Makawao Forest Reserve Thursday morning.

Several of her belongings, including her cellphone, were inside the vehicle.

A friend of the missing woman, Sarah Haynes, said it was not uncommon for Eller to leave her phone behind because she 'likes to unplug when she goes on runs'.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching the area around where Eller's car was discovered as a $10,000 reward has been offered for information concerning her whereabouts.
