The striking composition shows the child holding a flare of streaming pink which flows behind as she stands at the water's edge beside a Venetian canal. The latest graffiti in Venice echoes the intention of Swiss artist Christoph Buchel, who has caused controversy by bringing the hull of a migrant ship to the city after it sank off Lampedusa in April 2015 with hundreds aboard. The fishing vessel 'Barca Nostra' (Our Ship) that sank on April 18, 2015 was brought to Venice's former shipyards as part of Christoph Buchel's project ahead of the Biennale A wall art reported to be a new Banksy appeared at Marble Arch in London last month The new Banksy piece has 'all the characteristics of a Banksy,' according to The Art Newspaper.
