Tom Petty's daughters are suing his widow for $5million in damages over the late singer's unreleased music in the latest familial dispute over his estate.
The rock star, who died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 66 in 2017, made Dana York Petty the directing trustee of his assets.
But according to his daughters Adria Petty and Annakim Violette, the will also gives them 'equal participation' on decisions, which they believe Dana has ignored, reports Forbes.
They want Dana to put his assets in Petty Unlimited, an LLC created in the will, so that everything is equally divided. They also believe that together they should have ultimate control over his music, arguing that they have two-thirds of the vote.
The family are fighting over how Petty's music is released. They already fought over details including content, release dates, credits and liner notes on compilations An American Treasure and The Best of Everything.
