LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - An F-16 fighter jet crashed into a commercial building at March Air Reserve Base in Southern California on Thursday, touching off a fire, local media reported.

The pilot of the jet was able to eject before the crash at 3:45 p.m., March Air Reserve Base Deputy Fire Chief Timothy Holliday told the Los Angeles Times.

The fire was "not very big," Holliday told the paper.

It was not immediately clear if there were any injuries on the ground. Reuters could not immediately confirm the reports.
