Marine scientists are keeping an eye on a group of great white sharks spotted in waters along the North and South Carolina coastline earlier this week.
Researchers with the non-profit research group OCEARCH reported four of the great whites they have previously caught and tagged were tracked in the coastal southeast region.
The largest, named Luna, is 15-foot long and weigh 2,137 pounds.
Her tracker pinged out Monday over the Charleston Bump, an underwater rocky range that sits 90 miles southeast of Charleston.
Four great whites being tracked by OCEARCH, a non-profit research group, were confirmed to be lingering off the coast of the Carolinas earlier this week
All four sharks have previously been caught and tagged by OCEARCH researchers. Their locations can be tracked and monitored on the organization's website
Luna is the largest great white ever caught and tagged by OCEARCH since the organization was founded in 2007.
