YouTube personality Jared Knabenbauer, also known as ProJared, has claimed his now-estranged wife wanted them to have an open relationship and encouraged him to tell the woman he's accused of cheating with that he had serious feelings for her.
He opened up in a Friday evening post, saying he feels forced to speak about private details of his marriage to Heidi O'Ferrall after she posted on Twitter that he was sleeping with popular artist Holly Conrad behind her back.
After apologizing for images shared by his spouse and others since last Wednesday, he states that he went along with 'Ferrall's suggestion of a poly relationship a few years ago.
But he claims that in hindsight it was an attempt to resolve deep issues in their union. He alleged O'Ferrall had been involved with several casual partners during their marriage and has enjoyed a serious relationship with someone else since 2017.

But he alleges she flipped and accused him of cheating then threatened to hurt his reputation
He claims he tried therapy and stopped seeing others but she continued to see people
His statement added that O'Ferrall persuaded him to look for intimacy outside of their relationship but said he doesn't know whether that was to justify her own actions or boost his self esteem.
Knabenbauer's post went on to say that things took a bad turn after his wife told him to tell Conrad he didn't see her as just a fling.
'When I did, things changed with Heidi,' Knabenbauer wrote. 'She became angry and vindictive … She called me a 'cheater' and claimed that I was destroying the marriage because of my 'affair'—even though she continued to have other relationships with other partners.'
He alleged that despite the rough patch O'Ferrall continued her own intimate relationships outside of the marriage. Knabenbauer say he had couple's and individual therapy in an attempt to mend the marriage despite loved ones telling him to leave.
Alleging he was not the abuser but the one abused, he described it as a time of being 'embarrassed, scared and broken' as she threatened to destroy his career every time he tried to split from October 2018.
'I want everyone to know that any other interactions I may have had with any other women were known to, and encouraged by, Heid and were had with only the purest and lawful intentions,' he said, adding that he paid for initial deposits after finding a new place for her to live, and purchased a car to help her be independent.

She called it 'lies' and said she called out his relationship with Conrad in January 2018
In addition he told followers that when he filed for divorce May 13, he told his lawyers to give her what she's entitled to from his earnings during the time they were together.
Knabenbauer ended the statement saying he acknowledges that he must hold himself to a higher standard as a public figure but he only had the best intentions for his wife.
When their feud went public O'Ferrall tweeted that her husband had blocked her but on Friday she addressed screenshots she had seen of the YouTuber's tweets.
'Just count the number of times he says 'Heidi' compared to addressing his actions. I'm shocked that he's even still trying. This is full of misdirection and lies,' she posted. 'He says he only acted with my approval and this is nothing short of bulls**t. It's legitimately insane. I told him in no uncertain terms that I was not comfortable with polyamory after he proved he could not be transparent with me. Countless people can corroborate this.'
She clarified: 'We attempted polyamory, and then I shut it it down in no uncertain terms. I never had anything to hide from him, period. I did not receive the same transparency.'
O'Ferrall said she called them out for their romance in January 2018.
She wrote: 'Holly is the REASON our 'open relationship' didn't work. Because she told Jared that she ONLY had feelings for him, despite being married at the time.'
In the days before Knabenbauer's Twitter statement O'Ferrall had been tweeting that she was glad she pursued her own career over the course of their marriage as she only felt like 'Jared's wife' in many situations.
