Military chiefs have told soldiers to stop filling up Army vehicles at motorway service stations in a desperate attempt to save money.

Top brass want squaddies to use more than 100 Army fuel depots instead, but troops say that will only add time and mileage to journeys and cancel out any savings.

The ban applies to all Army vehicles, including trucks and armoured vehicles, as well as any transport hired to move troops and equipment.
