Five greyhounds have been returned to Australia after being rescued from one of the world's worst racetracks, infamous for killing thousands of dogs.

The racing dogs were sent home on Friday after surviving appalling conditions at the Macau Canindrome race track.

The track had a horrifying reputation for torture, and 30 greyhounds were reportedly killed each month.
