Huawei smartphone owners will be able to use the company's own operating system as early as this autumn, according to an executive from the Chinese telecom giant.
Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, said the new system would not only work with all Android apps, but also boost their efficiency by 60 per cent, reported China Business Journal.
The news came after Google announced it would stop providing Huawei with its license to use Android, the operating system that powers all smartphones made by the Chinese firm and its sub-brand Honor.
It also came after the U.S. issued orders last week to ban Huawei from buying parts and technologies from American suppliers.
