Channel 9 has been left red-faced after the network suffered a gaffe and viewers were left to watch a reporter wipe sweat off their face for almost half a minute.

Brown Cardigan uploaded footage of the television gaffe to its Instagram page on Thursday, showing the blunder that lasted more than 20 seconds.

The presenter crossed live to Jakarta in Indonesia, where the south-east Asia correspondent Renae Henry could be seen wiping sweat from her face.
