The family, from Liverpool, were staying at the Atlantique Holiday Club resort near Kusadasi, Turkey when other holidaymakers claimed one the children in the family was struck around the back of the head and another was dunked in the holiday pool by their feet. Thomas Cook moved the family to another hotel, before putting them on a flight back to Britain, where they were met at Manchester Airport by police. A family were flown back to Britain from this Turkish resort after fellow guests said one child was struck around the head and another was dunked in a swimming pool It is understood the family were booked in for a two-week stay at the resort, but were reported to the tour operator mid-way through the holiday. A number of other guests and hotel staff are said to have raised concerns Thomas Cook is said to have taken the reports extremely seriously and put the father of the family in a separate room from his wife and children until they could be flown back to Britain. The family are refuting the claims of child cruelty, the Liverpool Echo reports, but social services in Merseyside have been brought in to work with them. Merseyside Police have said officers from neighbouring force Greater Manchester met the family from the plane. A spokeswoman for Thomas Cook said: 'We have a duty of care to all of our customers, and have clear policies in place, including a child protection policy, which we will not hesitate to act upon to ensure the wellbeing of our customers and colleagues.'
