Mother of girl snatched and killed joins rally to demand serial paedophile stay ...

The mother of slain schoolgirl Samantha Knight will join a rally to demand the serial paedophile who killed her daughter is kept behind bars.

Michael Anthony Guider will be released from the Metropolitan Special Programs Centre at Long Bay on June 6, unless the New South Wales government wins a court action to keep him inside.

The 69-year-old has never publicly expressed any remorse for killing nine-year-old Samantha - which he claimed was accidental - and her body has never been found.

Samantha was snatched from an apartment in Bondi in Sydney's eastern suburbs in 1986, sparking one of the largest searches in Australian history.

As Guider's impending release edges closer, members of the public are rallying to keep him, and other child sex offenders, in jail unless they can provide a body.

The protest, which will start at 12pm in Bondi on Saturday, has been organised by one of Guider's victims, Chantelle Hamilton.

Ms Hamilton, who was drugged, abused and photographed by Guider as a child, sought the support of Samantha's mother Tess Knight.

In a statement, Ms Knight said: 'I support this March and the proposed law change, Knights Law.'

'Nothing will bring back Sam, but everything should be done to stop Michael Guider and others like him from being released.

'Michael Guider should never get out of prison.

'Please get behind the campaign and sign the petition and March with Chantelle on Saturday.'

Michael Anthony Guider was a gardener who befriended the vulnerable mothers of children he wanted to molest. He offered to babysit their children then drugged and molested them. He was serving a 16-year sentence when police learnt he had killed nine-year-old Sam Knight

The rally comes ahead of a preliminary hearing at the Supreme Court on Monday, which will decide if Attorney-General Mark Speakman is able to keep Guider in custody for an additional year.

'The march this Saturday is because on Monday there is a court hearing regarding Michael Guider and whether or not we can apply the 12 months,' Ms Hamilton told Daily Mail Australia.

'We're also marching to push ''Knight's Law'' which is ''no body, no release'' and that has over 128,000 signatures.'

'An extra 12 months is all well and good but we don't want an extra 12 months either so we need this Knight's Law passed.'

The law would prohibit convicted killers from parole if they do not provide the location of a body.

Sam Knight was seen on the afternoon she went missing from near her home at Bondi walking the streets in her school uniform. Hundreds of thousands of posters featuring her image were plastered around Australia and could still be seen for years after her 1986 disappearance

Ms Hamilton said the location of Saturday's rally was a purposeful choice.

'I decided to do it at Bondi because that's obviously the last place Sam was and I think that the community at Bondi and every where still feel so strongly about Samantha,' she said.

'I think it still rings home. She was this little, blonde-haired, blue-eyed schoolgirl that everyone was looking for, who never came home.'

Ms Hamilton, who will be joined by another of Guider's victim and Samantha's family, expected the rally to be a success.

'I think having Michael's other victims and the Knight family and Sam's mum march together, I think it just shows that we
