Avengers: Endgame has been a massive hit - raking in $2.6 billion worldwide - but still fell short of box office predictions.
The film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has broken several records including becoming the highest-grossing film of 2019 and the highest-grossing superhero film of all time.
But box-office analysts seemed to have higher expectations than what were delivered, according to Indiewire.
With a final domestic gross of $850 million, the multiple falls just under 2.4.
However 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens has multiples of 3.8 and Avengers: Infinity War - the prequel to Endgame - had multiples of 2.6

Additionally, now in it fourth week, Endgame fell from first place to second place, overtaken by the Keanu Reeves-driven John Wick: Chapter 3.
