A family dog was shot at twice protecting its owners from intruders in Houston.
The unnamed pooch was struck in the paw trying to defend its family from the home invaders who were holding the father inside the house at gunpoint at just after 1am Friday.
Members of the family inside the house were told to stay in their rooms after the intruders broke in through the back door, but a 17-year-old managed to escape through their bedroom window and run for help.
