Melania tours funky art exhibit with Japanese PM's wife and signs autographs for children at 'Be Best' event in Tokyo's digital aquarium By Francesca Chambers, Senior White House Correspondent For Dailymail.com Published: 05:26 BST, 26 May 2019 | Updated: 05:26 BST, 26 May 2019 Viewcomments Melania Trump toured a digital art museum Sunday morning in Tokyo and signed autographs for students participating in a 'Be Best' event with the first lady and her Japanese counterpart. Children crowded Mrs. Trump - who wore a navy Loro Piano jumpsuit - after she drew a purple fish for one vocal student that she addressed to the girl and signed for her. The first lady obliged as many of the children, of which there were 30 altogether, according to the White House, gathered round and asked her sign their sea creature photos. She gave them 'Be Best' drawstring bags at the event to promote her initiative that contained, pencils, stickers and school supplies, according to the first lady's spokeswoman. While Melania Trump was playing with kids, her husband was playing golf with the prime minister. He and the PM took selfies together in Chiba on the golf course. They did not speak to press, even though the president had a lot on his mind. He spent the morning tweeting about North Korea. The first lady and her companion, Mrs. Akie Abe, did not speak to reporters, either. Mrs. Trump was delighted to engage with the children at the interactive art installation, however. Before they sat down the Japanese primary students, the first lady and Mrs. Abe visited other rooms in the art exhibit, including one with more than 1,000 sparkling, white crystals. They passed through a room filled with glowing lanterns that lit up at their touch, too. Mrs. Abe wore low, silver heels that sparkled to match the occasion. Mrs. Trump had on navy blue flats and a dark belt that wrapped around her navy pantsuit jumper with white piping on the lapel. The first lady joined Mrs. Abe for tea after press departed. She'll attend a sumo match this evening with her husband, who's awarding the winner an over-sized gold cup.
