Children of the missing Connecticut mom walk out of their grandmother's ...

Two of missing Connecticut mom-of-five Jennifer Dulos' children have been pictured outside their grandmother's New York apartment under an apparent armed guard.

Dulos' mother Gloria was seen out with the two boys Thursday as the desperate search for her 50-year-old daughter continues.

She was last seen on Friday morning in the wealthy town of New Canaan when she dropped her children off at school.

Jennifer has been locked in a vicious custody battle with her estranged husband Fotis Dulos, 51, for the last two years.

She was 'afraid' of her partner and feared he would harm her in retaliation for the divorce, according to court documents.

Her five children, who range in age from eight to 13, are said to miss her 'terribly' and be under armed guard protection at their maternal grandmother's apartment in New York City.

Dulos' mother Gloria was pictured using a walking stick as she and a friend were seen getting in a cab with hired security. Later in the day they returned home before a black SUV pulled up and two of the boys were pictured heading off.

An NYPD officer was later seen shaking hands with the private security watching over the family.

The DailyMail.com revealed Thursday Fotis placed a call to 911 the night before she filed for divorce and custody of their children in 2017 saying he didn't know where his family were.

The successful property developer said his wife had taken their children to New York  on June 19 but after they were supposed to arrive, he couldn't get a hold of them.

And authorities revealed on Wednesday that a criminal investigation is being conducted to determine if Dulos was the victim of 'foul play or intentional harm'.

Fotis and Dulos have twin boys, a twin boy and girl, and a daughter. The children are between the ages of eight and 13.

Family spokesman Carrie Luft told ABC News: 'They miss their mother terribly, but they are doing as well under the circumstances as one could.

'It's devastating, a heartbreaking situation. We are all incredibly concerned, but very hopeful she will come back to us safe and sound.'

Friends of Dulos describe her as an 'incredibly devoted mother' who would never leave her children behind voluntarily.

'She is the most reliable and conscientious person I know,' said Luft. 'She is never late for anything, she shows up early to everything in her life.'

'She is engaged in her children's lives. They make up her entire world.'

Friends reported Dulos reported missing on Friday night after they hadn't heard from her for 10 hours and discovered she had missed several appointments that day.

Authorities found Dulos' car, a black 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, near Waveny Park, which is about a mile from her home in New Canaan.

Detectives shifted their search to the 300-acre park on Wednesday, scouring a a wooded area, pond, and cornfield with K-9 officers and a police drone.

On Thursday they also expanded the search to a property in Westchester County that is owned by Dulos' family.

Dulos' mother has a home in Pound Ridge, New York, which is inside the county.

The search for Dulos unfolded as accusations emerged in court documents related to her two-year custody battle with Fotis after she filed for divorce in 2017.

A hearing concerning the 'safety of the children' after a motion was filed by the court-appointed guardian was postponed had been scheduled for Wednesday. It was postponed as the family continued to grapple with Dulos' disappearance.

Fotis' attorney, Michael Rose, has since asked a judge to grant him custody. Rose claims that Dulos' children are under armed guard protection at her mother's house in New York City.

It has since been revealed that Dulos' mother was also fighting Fotis in court, claiming he owed her $2.5million in property loans.

Dulos claimed that Fotis was verbally abusive toward her and said he had exhibited 'irrational, unsafe, bullying, threatening and controlling behavior', according to an affidavit from the divorce proceedings obtained by Stamford Advocate.

'I am afraid of my husband,' she said. 'I know that filing for divorce and filing this motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way.'

'During the course of our marriage, he told me about sickening revenge fantasies and plans to cause physical harm to others who have wronged him.'

'I am afraid for my safety and the physical safety and emotional well-being of our minor children.'

In August 2017, Dulos claimed that Fotis almost struck her with his car in her driveway in front of their children and called her 'insane'.

'Why don't you pop another pill,' he said, according to the court motion. 'You should be put in an insane asylum. You're an unfit mother.'

He also allegedly told her: 'I can do whatever I want. You don't have a restraining order.'

After filing for divorce, Dulos and her children moved from the family's luxury home in Farmington (pictured) to a home she rented in New Canaan in June 2017
