Ann Widdecombe has been accused of stirring up 'poisonous bigotry' by fellow politicians following a controversial TV interview where she said that science could one day explain homosexuality.
The fiery Brexit Party MEP was being quizzed over historic remarks she had made regarding gay conversion therapy which she then tried to justify.
She said: 'The fact that we think it is now quite impossible for people to switch sexuality doesn't mean that science might not be able to produce an answer at some stage.'
The ex-Tory minister - who defected to Nigel Farage's new hardline party last month - has come under fire for her 'sick' remarks from fellow politicians.
