Scandal-hit Williams has been shopping her salacious story around the major TV networks, including Oprah's OWN, ABC and NBC, and wants a prime-time slot.
But DailyMail.com has learned King is the first big name to turn her down flat.
Network insiders claim 64-year-old King believes an interview with outspoken former radio host Williams, 54, could be perceived as too 'trashy' for morning television.
Neither CBS nor Gayle King responded to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
The CBS This Morning anchor was universally praised for her explosive and hard-hitting interview with embattled singer R. Kelly in March, which was the show's largest scoop for months.
And her snub will come as a huge blow to daytime TV host Williams, who has high hopes of making a huge splash with her emotional story.
