Andrea Leadsom last night pledged to hold monthly phone-ins with the public if she becomes Prime Minister. 

Mrs Leadsom also poured scorn on fellow Brexiteer leadership contenders Boris Johnson and Dominic Raab.

She accused the pair of ‘making Brexit harder’ by resigning from the Cabinet in opposition to Theresa May’s deal.

The former Leader of the Commons told the Daily Telegraph: ‘For me as a normal person who is a decisive leader but a very compassionate human being – what I’d really want to do is to introduce a monthly phone-in so that people can actually talk to their Prime Minister...’
