Rick Thorburn killed his foster daughter, Tiahleigh Palmer, between 8pm and 10pm on October 29, just hours after his son Trent, who was 18 at the time, confessed to having sex with her, telling his parents he feared she was pregnant. Tiahleigh's badly decomposed body was found by fishermen on the banks of the Pimpama River, Queensland, six days after she went missing while in the Thorburn family's care. The devastated mother of 12-year-old Tiahleigh Palmer, who was raped and murdered by her foster family, has slammed her foster brother Trent Thorburn for setting up a Tinder account just months after he was released from prison Cyndi Palmer took to social media to ask why anyone was shocked at Thorburn's 'callous disregard' for her family Trent Thorburn, who admitted having sex with Tiahleigh, was sentenced to four years jail for incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice in September 2017. He was released in January 2018, and appears to have since begun online dating under the alias 'TJ'. The profile lists Thorburn as an 'automotive metal fabricator' living in Brisbane. It's unclear whether the Tinder account is actually operated by Thorburn. Tiahleigh's mother, Cyndi Palmer, slammed Thorburn for his 'callous disregard' and said she had been bombarded with messages since the account had been discovered. 'I was trying to to let this consume me but after waking to so many messages I thought I would put my two cents in,' she wrote in an emotional statement on Facebook. Trent was jailed for four years in September 2017, but was released in January 2019 '[The] truth is this has been the behaviour of this rapist and his entire family from the very beginning,' she wrote, claiming she was baffled how people could be so shocked at his actions. 'People have obviously forgotten... they danced at her funeral, they lied and covered up the rape and murder for 11 months, they put posts up looking for more homestay children,' she wrote. '[Trent Thorburn] showed up to dance concerts, like the list goes on! 'The callous disregard the entire family have always had for what they have done has ALWAYS been apparent and the reality of them all moving on with and living their lives as if nothing has happened has always been there. 'I've always said the only life sentences given out are to the family.'
