A man was arrested and accused of being the mastermind behind illegal migration trips to Puerto Rico after a pregnant woman died this weekend when the raft she and 13 others were on capsized off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

Video obtained by DailyMail showed the frantic effort displayed by a rescue unit from the Dominican Republic Navy on Sunday afternoon about 12 miles off the waters of Punta Los Nidos, a town in the eastern province of La Altagracia.

Footage also showed military agents jumping into the choppy waters in the Caribbean Sea before they brought the 14 migrants - 11 men and three women - to safety aboard their vessel.
