Perfectly timed photo captures a seagull stealing a Maine lobster roll right ...

A woman visiting Maine was attempting to enjoy the area's namesake staple meal when a seagull stole her food right out of her hand, and she inadvertently caught the theft on camera.

Alicia Jessop of California tweeted a picture of a seagull snacking on her Maine lobster roll as she held it firmly in her hard just before 5pm Eastern on Friday.

'This is why we can’t have nice things,' the Pepperdine University sports law professor wrote with the photo. 'I was trying to take a picture of the lobster roll I ordered in Maine and well, this happened.'

Thankfully, Jessop was able to enjoy a Maine lobster roll after all. She just had to buy another one to do it.

The image of the sneaky seagull tweeted by Jessop quickly grabbed the attention of social media users, with some shocked at how steadfast she appeared in her grip on the sandwich in the image.

Publicist Danny Deraney asked, 'How is your hand so calm?'

'I literally was snapping the pic as this happened,' Jessop explained. 'I had no clue he was headed my way, because I was trying to get the correct angle with the lighthouse.

'Then the jerk swooped in on me and snatched my lobster roll! A lady was videotaping the whole scene from her car.'
