West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is considering leaving his Senate seat as the 2020 cycle approaches.
The conservative Democrat has told colleagues he is contemplating exiting the Senate before the end of this Congress due to the lack of bipartisan cooperation.
A Democratic Senator told The Hill that Manchin has recently become more exasperated with the lack of productivity in the Senate and threatened to retire before the end of the 116th Congress.
'He said, 'I'm out of here,' the lawmaker said. 'He was all pissed off and said, 'I'm going to be out of here.'
Manchin told The Hill he is 'not at all' happy with the productivity level on Capitol Hill and said he may go back and run for governor – a post he held from 2005-2010.
