Police have arrested a 26-year-old man after a mother was stabbed in the leg after she refused to hand over her phone to a mugger.
Christel Stainfield-Bruce was walking home in Islington, north London, on Friday when the attacker asked for directions to the Emirates Stadium before demanding she hand over her phone.
The 36-year-old mother-of-three who was pushing her son in a pram, refused and was then knifed in the back of the leg mere inches from an artery.
Officers today arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The attacker had originally been described as being aged in his mid-teens.
