Some girls were seen swigging from bottles of prosecco after 'trashing' themselves with messy foam, while other students completely covered their faces in pink paint. Pupils at the top university were seen making a mess of their smart exam clothes after their course finals finished. Two girls were seen covered in purple dye and foam as they walked down the street and held an umbrella. One student was seen spraying a can beer over his suit in celebration. The tradition of 'trashing' dates back to the 1970s and involves students covering themselves in champagne, confetti and other messy items at the end of their final exams. Prospective pupils require A-Level grades between A*A*A and AAA to even get in to a top Oxford college. Former Oxford students include outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May, as well as former Prime Minister Tony Blair. The university had warned on its website that students could face a £300 fine over 'trashing' and said the practice was against the University's Code of Conduct. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing in any of these pictures. The university also said on its website that 'wasting food reinforces negative stereotypes about Oxford students' and said that the practice was disruptive to other students still sitting exams.
