A footy fan who was kicked out of the stadium for calling an AFL umpire a 'flog' while watching his team has threatened to sue the league's millionaire boss.

The Carlton fan, who calls himself Frankie, was ejected from Marvel Stadium at half-time during his side's upset victory over Brisbane last Saturday afternoon.

Frankie's removal from the stadium came after veteran AFL umpire Matthew Nicholls pointed him out to security guards, moments after being called a 'bald-headed flog'.

In the days since the incident AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan has stood by the decision, and again during a radio interview on Friday pointed the finger at the fan.

But just moments after McLachlan had left his weekly segment with Melbourne's top radio host Neil Mitchell, Frankie rang the 3AW studio to threaten legal action unless he received an apology.
