Drunken teenagers hurled bottles at police officers as hundreds of schoolchildren caused carnage on an Essex beach as they celebrated the end of their GCSE exams Some 2,000 schoolkids descended on the beach at Chalkwell, Essex, last night  Laughing gas, cannabis and a mammoth amount of alcohol were seized by police A number of the teenagers were so drunk they required medical attention

A boozy post GCSEs beach party of 2,000 drunken schoolkids turned ugly when some of the teenage louts lobbed glass bottles at police officers.

Laughing gas, cannabis and a mammoth amount of alcohol - some of which had reportedly been spiked  - were seized on the beach at Chalkwell, Essex, last night.  

A number of the underage 16-year-olds drank so much that they required medical attention.

Southend Police officers scrambled to the beach to squash the carnage when some of the children started raining down bottles on them.
