Over 30,000 people are living in flats with timber cladding which may have to be removed following a fire in Barking.
As many as 12,600 flats in 220 different developments featuring the cladding have been given the go-ahead by planners across the UK in recent years.
Both developers and councils are now working to conduct investigations after safety concerns over the material.
