A man who suffered a crippling brain injury in a car accident has been awarded a record $20million in compensation.

Chrys Barker, 28, and his cousin Bobby Hobbs, 20, met with an accident after their car was hit by a drink driver in Caboolture, about 50km from Brisbane, on January 24, 2014.

Mr Hobbs was killed instantly and Mr Barker has since been confined to a wheelchair. He can't speak but understands all conversations and communicates through eyes movements.
