Hillary and Clinton, the Broadway production about Hillary Clinton's failed presidential bid in 2008, will be closing one month early.
The news was announced on Monday, and the production will close this Sunday after 37 previews and 77 performances.
It is a bit of a surprise given the team of heavy-hitters whop worked on the play, which was written by Lucas Hnath, directed by Joe Mantello, produced by Scott Rudin and starred Laurie Metcalf and John Lithgow.
Ticket sales were underwhelming from the start but fell off drastically in recent weeks, and the show will ultimately fail to recoup the $4.2 million spent on production costs.
Even Hillary herself, who is frequently spotted on the Great White Way, has not seen the play.
