Police in Ohio scrambled to save a 10-month-old baby from a smoking vehicle after it crashed and overturned during high-speed chase last month.

On the morning of May 16, Da’Shawn Pitts, 26, was being pursued by officers from the Dayton Police Department when suddenly he crashed his car at an intersection between Philadelphia Drive and Otterbein Avenue.

The chase began after the officers, who had been working in the area as part of a crackdown on gun crime, reportedly noticed Pitts driving suspiciously,
