Kevin Newman's two-out, bases-loaded walk brought in the fourth run of the 11th inning on Sunday to give the Pittsburgh Pirates an 11-10 win over the visiting San Diego Padres and a three-game series sweep.

San Diego took a 10-7 lead in the top of the 11th against Francisco Liriano (3-3) for its second three-run lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Phil Maton walked Bryan Reynolds, struck out Starling Marte and give up a single to Josh Bell. Melky Cabrera's RBI double made it 10-8.

Matt Wisler (2-2) relieved and gave up a tying two-run single to Jacob Stallings, loaded the bases and walked Newman.

Both starters went five innings. San Diego's Joey Lucchesi allowed four runs and six hits. Pittsburgh's Steven Brault gave up three runs and six hits.

San Diego took a 1-0 lead in the first on an unconventional play. Fernando Tatis Jr. walked. An out later, Manny Machado doubled to move Tatis to third. Renfoe popped out to Newman behind second base, and Tatis tagged and went home. He was ruled out, but that was overturned on review.

Pittsburgh went ahead 2-1 in the third. Jose Osuna doubled and scored on Brault's flare to center. Brault scored on Newman's single.

In the fourth, Austin Hedges drove in a run with his second double of the day, and Tatis drove in Hedges with a single to make it 3-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Osuna's two-out RBI single tied it 3-3, and Marte's sacrifice fly in the fifth gave the Pirates a 4-3 lead.

Hedges led off the sixth on a strikeout-wild pitch and later scored on Tatis' single up the middle to tie it. Eric Hosmer singled home Tatis for a 5-4 San Diego lead.

Machado's two-out, bases-loaded flare made it 7-4 in the eighth.

In the ninth on Kirby Yates' first blown save since Aug. 23, Newman had an RBI infield single, Reynolds an RBI base hit and Cabrera's groundout brought in a run to knot it 7-7.

Manuel Margot's RBI bunt single and Hedges' two-run single gave San Diego a 10-7 lead the top of the 11th.
