Cops in Indiana are searching for Paul Etter, 55, who is accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s A large-scale manhunt is under way in Indiana for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman after abducting her as she was changing a tire near a Girl Scout camp in Indiana. According to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office, 55-year-old Paul Etter pulled over three miles east of near Interstate 65 after seeing a woman in her 20s fixing her car on Saturday. Instead her helping her, officials say Etter kidnapped the stranded motorist and took her to a remote location in the 700 block of South Tippecanoe County Road 775 East. Sheriff Bob Goldsmith said the suspect held the woman against her will and sexually assaulted her near the local Girl Scout camp. At one point, the victim managed to escape but Etter allegedly caught up with her and confined her again. At around 5pm, Etter drove the woman to another location and let her go. She called 911 a short time later to report the abduction and sexual assault. Five different police agencies joined forces in the search for Etter, which in its initial stages involved helicopters, drones and K9 dogs. On Sunday afternoon, as officers were scouring the area for Etter, the station WLFI reported that a Facebook user claiming to be the wanted man posted a comment about the assault. A Facebook user claiming to be Etter posted a comment about the assault on Sunday ‘Extremely intoxicated the devil was with her driving her wrecked car with only two tires remaining,’ the message read. ‘I asked her if she needed assistance and the devil came unto me. I apoligise to my friends, community, law enforcement and and especially my family for creating this incident. I am only a danger to myself now.’ The sheriff's office is looking into whether the post actually came from Etter. As of Monday afternoon, Etter has not been located.
