Incredible audio from a frantic triple-0 call has emerged of a brave young girl remaining calm and composed on the phone while her grandfather was in cardiac arrest.
Janice was looking after her two young grandchildren 12 weeks ago when her husband Ken, 80, collapsed in the kitchen and went into cardiac arrest.
After dialling triple-0, a panicked Janice gave the phone to nine-year-old granddaughter Katie to speak to operator Tiago De Almeida while she frantically tried to revive her husband.
Katie's seven-year-old brother rushed outside to get help from neighbours.
Triple-0 call operator Tiago De Almeida described young Katie's composure as amazing
NSW Ambulance has released the audio from the call as a calm and collected Katie took instructions from Mr De Almeida while reassuring her distraught grandmother while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.
'Nanny you just need to keep on doing what you're doing okay,'
