Jay Bruce doubled home pinch runner Roman Quinn from second base in the bottom of the 10th inning as the host Philadelphia Phillies rallied for a 5-4 win over the New York Mets on Wednesday.
Bruce also doubled earlier in a game the Phillies once trailed 4-0 as late as the sixth inning.
Jean Segura homered among his two hits and had three RBIs for the Phillies, who won their third straight over the Mets in the four-game series that ends Thursday.
Cesar Hernandez and J.T. Realmuto added two hits apiece for the Phillies, who won on a walk-off for the first time this season.
Phillies starter Nick Pivetta lasted 5 2/3 innings and allowed nine hits and four runs. Edgar Garcia (2-0) earned the win in relief after a perfect 10th, highlighting a Phillies bullpen that allowed just one hit and one walk in 4 1/3 innings of relief.
Dominic Smith went 3-for-3, including a home run, while Jeff McNeil homered and doubled for the Mets, who dropped their fourth in a row.
Tomas Nido and Pete Alonso had two hits each for New York.
Mets starter Jason Vargas was quite effective in 6 1/3 innings in giving up three hits and two runs while striking out a career-high 10. Vargas threw only 77 pitches but was lifted with one out in the seventh and the Mets leading 4-1. Stephen Nogosek (0-1) took the loss in relief without recording an out in the 10th.
Smith homered for the third straight game as the Mets went ahead 1-0 in the fourth. Smith has seven home runs, just two short of his career-high.
McNeil ripped a solo shot in the fifth for a 2-0 lead. It was the seventh straight game the Mets put together multiple homers, the longest streak in franchise history.
Meanwhile the Phillies managed just one hit through the first five innings.
After consecutive walks by Pivetta to open the sixth, Nido singled home a run for a 3-0 advantage. McNeil added an RBI double for a 4-0 lead.
Segura crushed a solo homer to left with one out in the sixth to close the Mets' lead to 4-1.
Upon Vargas' departure, Hernandez hit a ground-rule double to score Realmuto and the Phillies got within 4-2 in the seventh. One out later pinch hitter Brad Miller walked before Scott Kingery kept the rally alive by reaching on a strikeout/wild pitch to load the bases. Segura then delivered a two-run single to tie the game at 4.
