A 44-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after she was allegedly was mauled by her pet dog in Sydney's south. 

Police were called to a home on Florida Street, Sylvania in Southern Sydney about 8.20pm on Sunday after they received reports a woman had been injured by a dog.

When emergency services arrived at the home, they allegedly found the woman with bite wounds and scratches to her arm, leg and chest, police told Daily Mail Australia.
