A swimmer was rushed to hospital on Tuesday morning after a suspected shark attack on Sydney's Northern Beaches. 

Paramedics were called to the boardwalk between Manly Beach and Shelly Beach about 5.50am, where a man in his mid-50s was suffering injuries to his abdomen and left leg.
