Former New York Mets pitcher and Cy Young winner Dwight 'Doc' Gooden was arrested in New Jersey last month for cocaine possession and driving under the influence.

According to the New York Post, the 54-year-old Gooden was arrested on June 7 by Holmdel police around 1am. After being pulled over for driving too slowly, Gooden was found with 'two small green zip-lock style plastic baggies containing suspected cocaine,' according to a criminal complaint filed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office that was obtained by the Post.

In addition to driving slowly, police claim Gooden was observed failing to maintain a lane and for having overly-tinted windows – a crime in New Jersey.

Gooden was ticketed for driving under the influence, according to the Post.

The four-time All-Star's history with drugs has been well documented, although he told the Post in 2016 that he had been completely sober following a rehab stint four years earlier.
