Ministers have vowed to press ahead with plans to stop bosses using workplace gagging orders to cover up allegations of sexual harassment or racial discrimination.

The pledge comes after the long-running row over Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green’s attempts to suppress allegations that he sexually harassed, bullied and made racist remarks to staff.

Sir Philip has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing.
