A grief-stricken father who lost his wife and daughter in a car crash on Christmas Day has made a desperate plea to keep their killer behind bars.
Laurie Tritton, 55, was riding in the car with his wife Karin and two daughters Makayla and Tarmeka, 23, before their vehicle was struck at Manly West, in Brisbane, in 2017.
Only Mr Tritton and Tarmeka survived.
Makayla Tritton, 18, and her mother Karin, 56, died after their car - on its way to a Christmas lunch in Brisbane - was hit by Mr Veneris' vehicle (pictured is Makayla Tritton)
The driver of the other vehicle, Mark Veneris, was travelling in his BMW at 100km/h in a 70km/h zone before he lost control and sent the car over the median strip and smashed into the family's vehicle head-on.
As emergency services pulled Veneris from the wreckage, a firefighter noticed an warm ice pipe on the front seat of the car.
Mr Tritton's family was rushed to hospital
