Passengers on an Etihad flight have been warned to check for measles symptoms after a third person was struck down with the disease in two days. 

The man was travelling on Etihad Airways flight EY 451 from Abu Dhabi, which arrived at Sydney International Airport at 11:55pm on Friday August 16. 

He was later diagnosed with measles.

Anyone on board the flight or travelling through the international arrivals area during the early hours of Saturday August 17 have been urged to remain alert for signs and symptoms of measles until September 3.

Symptoms can take up to 18 days to appear following exposure. 

On Friday two 40-year-old NSW residents were diagnosed with measles.
