A Rebels bikie who tried to smuggle $100,000 in his checked luggage on a flight from Perth to Sydney has been released after spending six months behind bars.

Glenn Ashleigh Knowler, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of dealing with property suspected as being the instrument of crime when he appeared in Central Local Court on Tuesday.

He had been in custody since his arrest at Sydney Airport on February 26 after police found $100,000 hidden in his luggage and intercepted his panicked text messages to a woman during the flight from Perth.

The court heard that during the five hour flight, a worried Knowler sent numerous text messages to a woman named in the fact sheet as Maddison Bravery, expressing fears he would be arrested, The Sunday Telegraph reported.
