Luke O'Connell, 27, died from his stab wounds after being taken to hospital
A man who died following a knife fight after being involved in a three-car crash has been named by Hertfordshire police as 27-year-old Luke O'Connell.
Police were called to a junction in Watford, Hertfordshire to reports of a crash and subsequent fight taking place.
Officers attended and found Luke, who lived in Watford, with critical stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire police said: 'Luke suffered serious injuries following an incident in Gammons Lane just before 3am and was pronounced dead in hospital.'
'A three vehicle collision occurred before a fight broke out involving a number of people. The family of Luke O'Connell are appealing to anyone who may have any information about what happened to him to contact police.'
Luke's mother said: 'As you can imagine we are absolutely devastated at what has happened to Luke. He had his whole life ahead of him and we are heartbroken.'
Detectives have said they were treating the young man's death as murder and confirmed that they were investigating another stabbing of a young man who was found a short distance from the crash, as part of the same incident.
The two incidents are believed to be connected and both scenes are cordoned off, while a 19-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of
