The former breakfast presenter has been likened to CNN reporters, with Trump fans suggesting he entered the realm of 'fake news' reporting during the interview.
He also spoke with Anthony Scaramucci, formerly the White House Director of Communications.

Scaramucci was fired after 11 days in the position.
Both are known to openly share their dislike and distrust of the Republican politician and businessman.
While Stefanovic offered little by way of commentary throughout the piece, audiences were quick to take to Twitter after the show to question the motive behind the interview.
'What a cheap hit piece on Donald Trump with washed up ex employees,' one person wrote.
'Karl Stefanovic adds himself to the fake news brethren,' another added. 'His anti-Trump article on #60minutes lacked integrity, information and facts.
'That was just a gutter opinion piece.'
