A neglected, 11-year-old Shih Tzu named Ellie May was given the shave of her life, when shelter workers in Omaha, Nebraska, cut a filthy shell of matted hair off the animal.

The incredible 'stinking mass of hair' covering Ellie Mae, as she is called, was so thick it was impenetrable, said workers who attended to the neglected pooch at the Nebraska Humane Society on Friday.
