A teenage Australian Rules player has become a sensation online after she was photographed doing the splits in mid-air during a grand final. 

The perfectly-timed photograph of St George Dragons player Erin Wardrop, 17, showed her leaping to spoil a marking attempt by Holroyd Parramatta opponent Michala Ford in last weekend's game. 

'Omggg Ahahahhaha how did I manage that?' Wardrop said after the photograph was uploaded on AFL NSW/ACT's Instagram account on Tuesday.
