Leah Remini has revealed she had 'no idea' her estranged father died 'a month ago' after saying Scientology destroyed their relationship and used him as a 'pawn' against her.
Actress Leah, 49, who was a Scientologist until 2013, took to Instagram to share the news of George Anthony Remini's death, saying his 'funeral came and went and none of us knew anything about it'.
The outspoken critic of the church said the breakdown of their relationship was a result of the religion 'dictating their last chapter' and meant that she was 'not able to say goodbye' to her dad.
Leah, who helps to host Scientology and the Aftermath, shared pictures from her childhood with her dad and said she was contacted by her sister Nicole who had received 'condolences for the passing of our father' from a stranger.
