The Beatles are about to get back to where they once belonged – at the top of the album charts.

Their classic LP Abbey Road, which was released on September 26, 1969 and was No 1 around the world, is on course to repeat that feat in the UK 50 years on.

The album, which features Here Comes The Sun and Come Together, has stolen a lead of 12,000 sales over last week’s chart-topper Liam Gallagher’s Why Me? Why Not.
